Independent financial planning and investment management - empowering you to make smart financial decisions
The financial services industry has come a long way, and today many excellent financial planners are delivering real value to clients. Despite this progress, too many individuals and families still struggle to find an adviser or firm that truly acts in their best interest. The issue isn’t just the quality of advice - it’s the business models that underpin much of the industry. Many are still structured to serve the adviser’s firm first, not the client.
The challenges clients face include:
Our Managing Director - Clint McCabe became disillusioned with high fees, opaque structures, and a lack of alignment between advisers and clients in the industry. This inspired him to acquire Acuma and build a progressive, client-focused firm based on integrity, evidence-based investing, and personalised planning.
At Acuma Wealth, we are a client-focused business grounded in integrity, excellence, and long-term thinking. We help individuals and families make smarter financial decisions through goal-based financial planning and low-cost, diversified investment strategies. Our approach is transparent, accessible, and designed to empower clients.
Our goal is simple:
To help people realise their life goals - the right way.
Financial Planning is the process of aligning your money with your life goals. It helps you understand where you are today, where you want to be in the future, and how to get there — with clarity, control, and confidence.
When Would You Need Financial Planning?
Planning for Retirement - Ensuring you have enough to retire comfortably - and on your terms.
Managing Life Transitions - Marriage, children, career changes, or inheritance - all impact your finances.
Buying a Home or Property - Securing a mortgage with our whole of market service.
Saving for Education or Other Major Goals - Planning ahead to fund school fees, travel, or a dream purchase.
Understanding & Reducing Tax - Making the most of allowances, reliefs, and efficient structures.
Investing with Purpose - Allocating capital to achieve your goals - not just to “beat the market.”
Protecting Your Family - Putting in place insurance or estate plans to protect what matters most.
Financial Planning removes the guess work to help you make smart, informed decisions about your financial future.
Your Goals Should Drive Your Portfolio
Financial planning and investment management are often treated as separate services. We believe they are inseparable; one is the map; the other is the engine.
A well-designed financial plan defines what you’re trying to achieve - whether that’s retiring early, funding education, buying a home, or leaving a legacy. Your investment strategy is simply the vehicle that helps get you there.
Planning Without Investing Is Incomplete
A financial plan without an appropriate investment strategy is just a wish list. Inflation, market returns, and your time horizon all play a role in whether your plan becomes reality.
Investing Without Planning Is Dangerous
Too many people invest without a clear purpose - chasing returns, reacting to headlines, or relying on guesswork. Without a plan, this approach is not only stressful, but often counterproductive.
Our Integrated Approach
We combine detailed forecasting with evidence-based investment strategies to ensure your portfolio is:
• Aligned to your goals and timeline
• Appropriately risk-managed
• Tax-efficient
• Flexible enough to adapt as life changes
